Producer
2007-current

Borderless Fukui airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. on 79.1 Tannan FM. The show focuses on daily life and events in Fukui and Japan. We cover festivals like Katsuyama’s Sagicho Festival, and the well-known Hounen Matsuri, and talk with local artists, city planners, musicians, sake brewers, and more. On our first show, a reporter attended the rally for Barack Obama in Obama city.

Building on experience in college radio at Azusa Pacific University and the University of California Irvine, I helped other volunteers start this show from scratch. I worked with station staff to recruit Japanese volunteers, and now help relay information between Japanese and English speaking staff in order to plan meetings, coverage of events, and in-studio recording sessions. I also record in-studio interviews in Japanese and edit them for broadcast.
