JETFuel
Editor 2006-2008

JETFuel is the FJET magazine published independently by and for current Fukui JETs. As editor, I worked with an assistant editor to update the content and add eight regular departments: language, fitness, dating, recipes, profiles of local figures, travel destinations in nearby prefectures, and restaurant and CD reviews. We also added two regular columns: “JETFuel Probe,” a long interview with a prominent figure in Fukui, and “Other Voices” with perspectives from foreign, non-JET members of the community. I pushed to introduce a full-color cover featuring seasonal Japan-related themes by local artists, and revamped the layout, creating a regular style with the help of local design talent.

The West Wind
Editor 2005

The West Wind is the bi-annual literary publication of the English Department of Azusa Pacific University. It features poems, short stories, art and photography by students and faculty. As editor, solicited submissions in the university community with a team of student editors, and worked with a local printer to create the highest quality publication possible within our budget.
